These terms govern your use of The Review Directory platform and form an agreement between you and The Review Directory. By accessing or using our Service, you confirm your understanding and acceptance of these terms.

If any part of these terms does not align with your views, please do not access or use the Service.

About The Review Directory

The Review Directory ("we", "us", or "our") operates an online platform where consumers can find businesses, read reviews, and share their own experiences. Businesses can claim their profiles, respond to customer feedback, and access tools to manage their online reputation.

User Types

Our platform serves two types of users:

Consumers — Individuals who browse the platform, read reviews, and write reviews based on their genuine experiences with businesses.

Businesses — Companies or their authorised representatives who claim business profiles, respond to reviews, and may subscribe to paid plans for additional features.

Account Registration

To write a review or claim a business profile, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your account information up to date
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Consumer Responsibilities

As a consumer using our platform, you agree to:

• Only write reviews based on genuine personal experiences
• Be honest and fair in your assessments
• Not post fake, misleading, or incentivised reviews
• Not include personal attacks, hate speech, or discriminatory content
• Not post content that is defamatory, obscene, or illegal
• Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
• Not use the platform for spam, advertising, or promotional purposes

Review Guidelines & Fake Review Policy

We are committed to maintaining the integrity of all reviews on our platform. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Fake reviews that do not reflect a genuine customer experience
• Reviews written in exchange for payment, discounts, or other incentives (unless clearly disclosed)
• Reviews written by business owners, employees, or competitors about their own or rival businesses
• Multiple reviews for the same experience from the same person
• Reviews containing false or misleading claims

We employ measures to detect and remove fake or inappropriate content. If a violation is found or suspected, the review may be removed without notice, and the user's account may be suspended or terminated.

Content Ownership & Licence

When you submit a review or other content to our platform, you retain ownership of your content. However, by submitting content, you grant The Review Directory a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Publish, display, and distribute your content on our platform
• Share your content with the business being reviewed
• Display your content on third-party platforms (such as search engines)
• Edit or format your content for display purposes

This licence survives termination of your account or any business subscription. Reviews may continue to be displayed on our platform even after a business cancels their subscription.

You confirm that you have all necessary rights to grant this licence and that your content does not infringe the rights of any third party.

Business Responsibilities

As a business using our platform, you agree to:

• Only claim profiles for businesses you are authorised to represent
• Provide accurate business information
• Respond to reviews professionally and constructively
• Not attempt to manipulate, suppress, or artificially inflate your ratings
• Not offer incentives in exchange for positive reviews or removal of negative reviews
• Not harass or intimidate reviewers

Business Subscriptions & Fees

We offer free basic profiles for businesses, as well as paid subscription plans with additional features.

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

• You agree to pay all fees in accordance with your selected plan
• Fees are charged in advance and are billed in USD
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period
• Fees are non-cancellable and non-refundable
• You authorise us to charge your payment method on file for all applicable fees
• You are responsible for any applicable taxes

We process payments through Stripe. By providing your payment details, you authorise ongoing charges to your payment method until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Upon cancellation:

• Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period
• You will not receive a refund for any unused portion of your subscription
• Your business profile will revert to the free basic tier
• Reviews of your business will remain visible on the platform

Reporting & Moderation

Users can report reviews they believe violate our guidelines by using the flag icon on the review. Our moderation team will investigate reported content and take appropriate action.

Businesses can also flag reviews for investigation. We encourage constructive dialogue between businesses and their customers, and we provide tools for businesses to respond publicly to reviews.

Disclaimer

The Review Directory provides the platform "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any reviews or content
• That reviews reflect the current state of a business
• That the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Any specific results from using the platform

Reviews and ratings represent the opinions of individual users and do not represent the views of The Review Directory. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of any review content.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Review Directory shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Review Directory, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit to the platform

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

Upon termination:

• Your access to the platform will be revoked
• Any content you have submitted may remain on the platform
• Any outstanding fees will become immediately due

Modifications

We may update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

Third-Party Services

Our platform may integrate with or link to third-party services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party services.
